Clubbing in Belgrade
One of the most popular hip-hop groups “Public Enemy”, the musician and producer Farrel Williams, the English band “Audio Bullys“ and the popular domestic rapper Marchello will perform on November 28th at the Belgrade Fair, as part of “Becksperience” manifestation. All devotees of hip-hop culture will have a chance to enjoy the legendary hits of the band which marked this musical style, as well as Farrell’s songs who is currently one of the leading musicians on the world music stage.
Stars of the third “Becksperience” will surely be the American band “Public Enemy”, famous for politically engaged lyrics, which made hits such as “Fight the Power“ (generally considered as one of the best hip-hop songs ever), “Bring the Noise“, “Don’t Believe the Hype“, “Brothers Gonna Work it Out“, “Welcome to the Terrordome“… The renowned band performed at the Belgrade Sports Hall in 2003 and delighted numerous fans. The band “Public Enemy” is composed of Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Professor Griff and DJ Lord, and members of “S1W“ (“Security of the First World“) which among other things, take care of the band’s safety. Their debut album, “Yo! Bum Rush The Show”, was released in 1987 to critical acclaim and in the following year they recorded the revolutionary “It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back“. Their successful career continued with the album “Fear of a Black Planet“, which is considered to be equally militant and controversial just as their previous two releases, and exactly that album is widely regarded as their most successful album so far. Their following release “Apocalypse '91... The Enemy Strikes Black“which continued the politically charged themes concerning Afro-Americans. Although in the following years the band “Public Enemy“ released several more albums, they did not reach the success of the first four albums and owing to which this band will remain one of the most famous and most influential ones.
The Belgrade audience will also have an opportunity to see one of the most popular singers and music producers Farrell Williams, one of the rare performers whose work is equally interesting to the audience with different music tastes and the man responsible for the success of many currently famous world stars. This summer he had a successful performance with the band “N.E.R.D.“ at EXIT, and this time they will present some of their greatest hits. The British band “Audio Bullys“ will again perform after their concert at this year’s EXIT festival, and besides their greatest hit “Shot You Down“, they will also play the songs from their new album “Sunday Night Fever“.
