Thievery Corporation will play in Belgrade

The renowned US trip-hop and electronica band Thievery Corporation have scheduled a concert in Belgrade’s BelExpo Centre on 31 May this year. The two members of the band are Eric Hilton and Rob Garza, while their ensemble will feature as many as 20-odd musicians on stage for the Belgrade gig.
Thievery Corporation was founded in Washington in 1995 by Eric Hilton and Rob Garza and they soon captivated audiences around the world with their musical blend of jazz, reggae, bossa nova and electronica. They founded their own record label ESL Music the next year and released singles such as Shaollin Sattelite and 2001 Spliff Odyssey, while their international breakthrough came with their first LP – Sounds of the Thievery Hi-Fi, which defined the genre they frequently refer to as the “outernational sound”. Over the past decade, Thievery Corporation have grown and developed their music through the albums The Mirror Conspiracy, The Richest Man In Babylon and The Cosmic Game. Their latest release was Radio Retaliation in 2008, while the band members deem it their “most internationally-oriented release”.
