The famous British guitarist Eric Clapton will perform on June 9 at the Belgrade Arena. Music devotees will surely be delighted by the news that Eric will perform in Belgrade with Steve Winwood, his old friend from the band "Blind Faith".

Clapton started his career as a 17-year-old boy in a band "The Roosters". In late 1963 he joined the band "The Yarbirds". He soon became one of the most talented young guitarists in Britain. He left "The Yarbirds" in 1965 soon after the release of the hit single "For Your Love". He joined John Mayall and his band "Bluesbreakers" with whom he made a record "Blues Breakers", one of the most important albums from the 1960s. He was not part of this band long and in July 1966 he formed a band "Cream” together with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. In the following two years the band released three albums which sold over 35 million copies with hits such as "Feel Free", "Spoonful", "Sunshine Of Your Love", "Crossroads" etc. In 1968 the band fell apart and Eric founded a band "Derek and The Dominos" which in 1970 released the album "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" announcing the hit "Layla". After numerous problems with drug addiction, in 1974 Clapton released his second solo album "461 Ocean Boulevard" featuring a cover of Bob Marley’s great hit "I Shot the Sheriff". In the following three decades, he released 18 albums featuring hits such as "Wonderful Tonight", "Cocaine", "Tears In Heaven" etc.

Eric Clapton’s world tour starts on February 18 in New York, while the European part of the tour starts on May 20 in London and he has confirmed concerts in Antwerpen, Paris, Dusseldorf, Arnhem, Berlin, Malme, Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Belgrade, Bucharest and Istanbul. According to first announcements, Clapton will play on the European part of the tour his greatest hits from his solo career, as well as songs recorded with the bands "Derek and The Dominos" and "Blind Faith".
