International Film Festival – FEST
The Festival hosts presentation of cinematic ultimate art achievements in the world film industry. It is of review nature. The festival is promoted by the FEST Directorate. Held from the last Friday in February thru the first week of March.
Belgrade Summer Festival – BELEF
The spirit of Belgrade in the course of summer is marked by the Belgrade Summer Festival, BELEF. This festival gathers three large artistic disciplines: performing arts (theatre and contemporary dance), visual arts (video art, installations, prints and performances) and music. Through numerous tours, self productions and co-productions with cultural institutions and similar summer festivals, BELEF urges to go further in engaging, fostering and developing creative potentials of artists and individuals, as well as giving reply to the needs of the audience. In interaction with the surroundings, animating new urban spaces as venues of cultural events, Belgrade Summer Festival tends to tell a story about Belgrade, as big city and its tolerant, communicative and urban essence. Held in the period July - August.
Belgrade International Theatre Festival – BITEF
Founded in 1967, BITEF (Belgrade International Theater Festival) has continually followed and supported the latest theater trends. Growing and developing, it has become one of five most important and biggest European festivals and has, as such, secured itself an unmistakable place at the theater map of the world. It has become one of the most significant culture institutions of our country, but also much more than that. The importance of BITEF surpasses all political and cultural borders. For this reason we can identify the history of BITEF with a history of contemporary theater. Held in September, lasts for about 15 days.
Belgrade Book Fair
The international event of book publishers and bookstores presenting domestic publishing production of domestic and foreign publishers between two fairs. The overall publishing production of the exhibitors and antiquary books. Separate schedule ensemble is presentation of the country – the official guest of the Fair. Promoted by "Belgrade Fair". Held at the end of October – the beginning of November in the "Belgrade Fair" halls, lasting one week.
International Meeting of Children of Europe – Joy of Europe
At the beginning of each October, Belgrade youngsters and their families host several hundreds of children from all over Europe, bringing sounds, moves, pictures, customs of their countries with them, as well as various skills that, during the six days of the Program, they show in the streets, squares and Belgrade arenas. Downtown Carnival, Friendship Gatherings, International Arts Competition followed by the closing exhibition, Info Bazaar , half-day program at Kalemegdan, Gala Concert at the Center "Sava", Grand Party - these are all program segments of the Manifestation that every year enrich the range of culture activities in Belgrade, and offer various possibilities to children for having fun and making friends. The role of families and schools of the host children is invaluable to the organization of the Festival, as well as to the creating of fine threads of continuous bounding. There is no a single country in Europe whose children have not participated in the "Joy of Europe".
