The exhibition entitled "Tito photo", presenting photos taken by former Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito, will be held from the 13th until the 28th February 2010 at the Museum May 25th in Belgrade.
Serbian audience will be able to see for the first time photos and polaroids taken by former Yugoslav President Tito, which were discovered in the Historical Museum of Yugoslavia only a month ago. The photos include celebrations, landscapes, pastimes, friends, etc.
Despite being engaged in photographing for more than 40 years, Tito remained an amateur photographer and had a privilege of photographing everything he wanted to. The motifs on his photos included seashores, scenes from nature, hunting, animals, flowers, indoor objects, staff, etc.
The Museum May 25th was built specially for Tito, as a gift of the city of Belgrade, for his 70th birthday. It was opened on 25 May 1962. Until 1982, the Museum housed and exhibited the gifts Tito was presented in Yugoslavia and abroad and those gifts were also studied. Since 1992, it has hosted thematic exhibitions of materials from the funds of the Historical Museum of Yugoslavia and has also organized artistic events and performances, together with partners from Serbia and abroad.
