Cycle Tracks

Cycle tracks
• Track A: Dorćol Marina on the banks of the Danube - Sava River bank - Ada Ciganlija - 7.5 km.
• Track B: Hotel Jugoslavija - banks of the Danube and Sava - Blok 45 The two tracks meet at Brankov most where there is a lift for cyclists.
• Track C: Round the Ada Ciganlija Lake - 8 km

Danube and Sava river bank – The built-up quay begins in the old part of Zemun, going past the Hotel Jugoslavija, until it reaches the confluence of the Sava and Danube, and then passes under the bridges of Belgrade until you reach Blok 45 in Novi Beograd. For most of its length it passes by a large number of cafés, clubs and floating restaurants.

Danube Quay – From the Sava Passenger Dock past Nebojša's Tower to the Sports Centre on the banks of the Danube. The bicycle track which leads all the way to Ada Ciganlija starts here.

Kalemegdan – From Kalemegdan, Belgrade's largest park, you begin a walk through the history of Belgrade as inscribed on the walls of the Belgrade Fortress.

Ada Ciganlija – Around the Sava Lake there are 7 km of surfaced pedestrian paths with many cafés and restaurants. You can, of course, turn off into the less accessible wooded parts of Ada Ciganlija.

The Sava Lake is surrounded by more than 7 km of well-kept shingle beaches, whose water is warmer and cleaner than in the river. The lake is ideal for mass recreation, swimming, rowing, kayaking, water polo, diving, wind-surfing and other sports, and a number of international and domestic championships have been held there. On Ada Ciganlija there are over 50 different open-air sports grounds, among which there are a golf course and a lift for water-skiing. There are 7 kilometres of long beaches and sports facilities for various sports including golf, football, basketball, volleyball, rugby union, baseball, and tennis. There are also playing grounds for beach volleyball and aqua soccer and, as to the extreme sports: banji jump, artificial rock wall, and paintball. Extreme sports are available, like bungee jumping, water skiing and paintballing. There are numerous tracks on the island, where it is possible to ride a bike, go for a walk or go jogging. For anglers, there is also the lake Ada safari.

Lake "Ada Safari" is situated at peninsula "Ada Ciganlija", on river Sava, and is one of the most beautiful and biggest vacation areas in Belgrade. Once a swamp overgrown by cane is turned in 1994. in a lake named "Ada Safari", with approximate area of 6 hectares. The lake is stocked with prize and rare examples of fish, of carefully controlled quality, such as: Common carp, Grass carp, Prussian carp and the very rare and attractive tench. A centennial forest that provides absolute silence and protects from city noise that surrounds it. Around a lake are 30 places for fishing marked by numbers. The location of the lake is unique for this type of sport. It is on the Ada Ciganlija peninsula, just 5 km from the city centre.

Shooting sport is the main activity of BG Sport Centre Kovilovo. This complex, ranked as one of the best in the whole world, consists of 6 shooting ranges for Skeet, Trap and Double Trap events and of one sporting compact shooting range specially designed for huntsmen. Up to date boxes for dogs are also available, thus presenting additional advantage for the hunting sport.

“Belgrade Arena”

“Belgrade Arena” became Belgrade’s trademark and one of the new symbols of the Serbian capital, as well as the place of interest for the visitors to our capital and the country. It is a facility that fully meets the latest standards and, together with the “Prague Arena”, it is at the highest technological level in Europe. The Arena is a multi-purpose hall for all sorts of sporting events: basketball, handball, volleyball, tennis, athletics and martial arts, not to mention the possibility of staging ice sports. The main hall covers 48,000 m2, spread over six floors and can accommodate 20,000 spectators. Apart from indoor sports the Arena also stages concerts, cultural events, trade fairs and conventions.

Tašmajdan Sports and Recreation Center

This Recreation Center is a swimming venue situated in the city of Belgrade, Serbia. The swimming area includes an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool with the stands for 2.000 spectators, a diving platform for diving from one, three, five and ten m diving boards, and sixteen underwater windows for underwater film shooting.

The Belgrade Marathon Race is the largest and the most mass attended sporting event in Serbia. The Belgrade Marathon is organized to suit all ages: the Children’s Marathon, the race for the youngest; the Race of Pleasure, the most mass-attended race; the Semi-marathon, arranged under all applicable world standards, intended for highly eager runners; the Marathon, the main race of the event, intended for the most ready runners.
All events on the streets are monitored by the entire local and majority of foreign media. The organization of the event is managed in compliance with the highest world standards, and the team of the managers has won numerous world and local recognitions for the work done. Belgrade has proven to the world its competence and readiness to enter the large family of the countries having the potentials and recourses to organize the most complex running races of the highest quality and to take its position side by side with the largest world marathon races such as the ones of New York, London, Paris, Rotterdam…
